Stake Program & Purses Racing Surfaces Tracing Facilities Stake Program & Purses The lucrative 2024 Thoroughbred stakes program will offer more than $16 million in purses, including two $1 million classics, Woodbine Mile and Canadian Bred King’s Plate. Over $62,000,000 in purses will be distributed during the 2024 Season. Base purses for quality races will exceed $70,000+ in 2024. 2024 Horse Acquisition Incentive Program The Woodbine Race Office has released the criteria and relative information for the 2024 Horse Acquisition Incentive Program. Program Outline Application Form See Stakes Schedules Starter Bonus Woodbine Entertainment announced that it is introducing a Starter Bonus for trainers for the 2024 racing season. A Starter Bonus of $50 will be paid to all trainers who start a horse in an overnight race that finishes outside of the top-five. The Starter Bonus is not applicable to stakes races.
